Yes, after much popular demand, the OTWAY CONVENTION is back in a brand new location.
We spent a long time looking for somewhere else to go and finally discovered that Weston Super Mare had two delightful hotels next to each other and one sported a superb function room.
Plus at the end of the pier, there’s exactly the right venue for the Saturday-night gig.
The Format
If you have ever been on one of the Dunkerque trips or to a previous convention, you know what a great weekend is had by all. If you have never been to either, where have you been? It truly is an incredible weekend where you will make new friends, get re-aquainted with old friends and most of all, you'll have a weekend of entertainment and laughter.
As with previous events, we plan to hold an additional special event on the Friday evening. The event will include a meal (for those booked into the hotel) followed by an evening's entertainment. In the past we have had Steve Frost's Improv All-Stars, Arthur Smith, Sur Les Docks Wild Willy Barrett and Murray Torkildsen. The Saturday night big band show will feature very special guests. (previous acts have been Jilted John, The Members, Department S and Sound of the Sirens) at a great venue at the end of the pier with all the usual fun. Finally, on Sunday, we shall have our traditional Sunday session - which has always been the highlight of the convention for many.
